Curriculum Overview
As a British School Overseas, we follow the British Council School Curriculum, grounded in the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the English National Curriculum through to Year 11. This is complemented by mandatory Spanish language instruction, ensuring our students are bilingual and bicultural.
Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception, Ages 5+)
Our Reception students follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which provides a broad and balanced approach to early childhood education through seven key areas of learning:

These areas are delivered in English, both inside and outside the classroom, in our purpose-built Early Years environment.

Phonics is introduced from the third term in Nursery using the Read, Write, Inc. programme.

Between 10–15% of the Early Years curriculum is taught in Spanish, covering Literature, Language, and Understanding the World.

Students follow the English National Curriculum, taught primarily in English, with:

80% of the 35-period week focused on core subjects in English.

Upper Secondary (Key Stage 4 – Years 9–11)
Students in Key Stage 4 typically take 10 International GCSE (IGCSE) subjects, of which 8 are compulsory and 2 are optional.

English
Every teacher remembers the spark of inspiration that got them into the subject in the first place. But sometimes the pressure to deliver great exam results makes it hard to keep the spark alive. We want to help you inspire the next generation.
Maths
Our range of courses caters for students of different abilities. With flexible routes through our maths qualifications, you have the freedom to plan a maths journey for each student, whatever their learning style, ability or aspirations.
Spanish
Pearson's IGCSE and AS, A-level and IAL specifications provide a broad understanding of the culture, countries and communities where modern languages are spoken and encourage enjoyment of language learning.

Art and Design
Art and Design courses are flexible and stimulate creativity, offering a high degree of choice and a range of different media, processes and techniques. All our courses give students the opportunity to produce a portfolio of work that they can show to prospective employers or use to help secure a place in higher education.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Our science courses combine relevant, inspiring content.
With a wide range of science qualifications, we can provide choice and flexibility to suit students of different abilities and aptitudes, we support all students from those who want to understand the basics, through to those who want to follow a career in science or follow a higher education science course.
Business
In our secondary school, our Business course, typically combines elements of accountancy, finance, marketing, organizational studies, human resource management and economics. The range of topics is designed to give the student a general overview of the various elements of running a business.

Computer Science
Computer Science is the study of computers and computational systems. Unlike electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists deal mostly with software and software systems; this includes their theory, design, development, and application
Geography
Studying Geography gives students the opportunity to travel the world via the classroom, learning about both natural and social sciences along the way. We take great care to make sure our specifications for our Geography students are as exciting and engaging to learn, as they are for you to teach.
Global Citizenship
Citizenship Studies prepares students to become active citizens of democracy. The Citizenship Studies specifications allow students to apply their learning to real-life scenarios on both a local and global scale.
History
Our History qualifications offer schools, colleges and students the opportunity to study a range of periods from history in a variety of ways – from both national and international perspectives. At secondary level, Business Studies, as it is often called, typically combines elements of accountancy, finance, marketing, organizational studies, human resource management and economics.[1] The range of topics is designed to give the student a general overview of the various elements of running a business.

Music
We’ve kept as much emphasis as possible on the practical, so our students have every opportunity to take part in an annual performance. Music at our school is an introduction to the study of music, including a variety of musical. styles and genres. Our aim is for students to acquire the necessary level to take on a GCSE in the subject.

Physical Education
The vision of our school is that everyone in the school community is able to take part in sport or activity, regardless of age, background or ability. We aim to develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle.
PSHE
PSHE education is a school curriculum subject in England that helps children and young people stay healthy, safe and prepared for life – and work – in modern Britain. When taught well, PSHE education also helps pupils to achieve their academic potential.

Religious Studies
Our specifications provide a broad understanding of the beliefs and practices of the faiths studied, as well as promoting religious literacy and the contemplation of ultimate questions.
Students will be able to reflect on and develop their own values, beliefs and attitudes in light of what they have learnt.There will be a range of relevant and contemporary themes to study that will promote awareness of modern-world issues and engagement within the classroom.

Sociology
GCSE Sociology helps students to gain knowledge and understanding of key social structures, processes and issues through the study of families, education, crime and deviance and social stratification.
Students will develop their analytical, assimilation and communication skills by comparing and contrasting perspectives on a variety of social issues, constructing reasoned arguments, making substantiated judgements and drawing reasoned conclusions.

Statistics
We understand that many students feel that maths is ‘not for them’ but we believe that maths is for everyone. So, by putting students at the heart of everything we do, our aim is to support teachers to shape what success in maths looks like for every student.

The Pearson Edexcel Level 1/Level 2 GCSE (9–1) in Russian consists of four externally examined papers based on the following skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students must complete their speaking assessment in April/May and all other assessments in May/June in any single year. Each paper is available at Foundation tier or Higher tier. Students must be entered for a single tier across all papers.
