Tuition Fees and Examination Entry Policy

1. Tuition Fees and School Charges

The school's current tuition fees and additional charges are listed below.

2. Examination Fees

Details of examination entry fees are available from the school secretary. Standard examination fees are published on the school's examination fees page.

Please note:

• Examination fees are charged per subject, not per unit.

• All examination fees must be paid by 31 January in the year the examination is to be taken.

• Students and parents should confirm the applicable fees with the secretary before submitting entries.

3. Examination Entry Deadlines

Students must ensure that their examination entries are correct and submitted within the published deadlines.

• By 31 January: Entries may be amended without additional amendment charges.

• From 1 February onwards: Changes may incur penalties and additional fees.

• Late entries: Late entries may be accepted up to the week before the examination, subject to the examination board's rules and availability. Significant additional charges will apply.

Late-entry penalties are as follows:

• From 1 February until 1 March: An additional charge of 100% of the applicable entry fee.

• After 1 March until the final week before the examination: A further 100% penalty applies, in accordance with the applicable examination entry arrangements.

All late entries and amendments are subject to acceptance by the relevant examination board.

4. Amendments to Examination Entries

An amendment fee may apply when a student requests a change of examination level, subject or examination entry after the applicable deadline.

The charge will consist of the entry fee applicable at the time of the change, plus any relevant late-entry or amendment penalties.

Students should check their entries carefully before the deadline to avoid unnecessary charges.

5. Confirmation of Examination Entries

Examination entries will be confirmed in writing to students. Entry lists will also be displayed on the noticeboards in the school's main hallway.

Students are responsible for checking that they have been entered for the correct subjects, levels and examinations.

All students must verify their examination entries before 31 January and report any errors to the school secretary immediately.

6. Additional Charges and Brexit

Following the UK's withdrawal from the European Union, additional administrative, banking or regulatory charges may arise where imposed by examination boards, banks or relevant authorities.

Where such charges apply to the school, the corresponding costs may be passed on to the individual student concerned. The school will communicate applicable charges where reasonably practicable.

7. Examination Results

Students may collect their examination results on the official results release date.

Results must be collected in person, and students are required to sign to confirm receipt.

Students should contact the school secretary if they are unable to collect their results personally or require clarification regarding collection arrangements.

8. Certificates

Examination certificates must also be collected and signed for by the student.

The school traditionally presents certificates during its annual Christmas show. Students who are unable to attend will be offered alternative collection arrangements.

Students should contact the school secretary to organise an alternative collection where necessary.

Good afternoon,To those students who were considering taking their examinations through The O’Brien International School and College, as external candidates, unfortunately we have received an important update from one of the examination boards.The examination board has changed its rules regarding external candidates. As a result, students will now need to be taught at our school in order to be entered for examinations in any subject.
